Taking a 3 Yr old to Disney World

Image
Welcome 😊 I recently travelled to Disney World Florida from the UK and I wanted to share my experiences with you.  I have a 3 year old boy who suffers from asthma, acid reflux and a dairy intolerance so not the easiest trip to make. After staying nearby in a hotel the night before, we were up and ready eager to make our way to the airport to begin our adventure to Disney World. It was the first time our little one had been on an aeroplane and what better way to experience it than a 9 1/2 hour flight!   We flew with Virgin Airlines and they were fantastic, always coming to say hello to the little man, giving him snacks and making him feel at ease.  The only downside was that due to him having a dairy intolerance he could not have a children's meal so had to order the Vegan adult option which was not particularly suited to him.  After the odd tantrum here and there (which was expected) we had arrived.   At the end of the flight the air-hostesses gave m...

Lake District Easter Adventure

Thursday 14th April It's 4:30 am and the alarm has just gone off ready for our adventure to the lake district.  Car all packed and ready to leave at 5am we were on our way for what would be our 4 hour journey filled with "are we on holiday yet" and nursery rhymes. We arrived at 9:15 with a brief breakfast stop and after a quick shower to freshen up we were ready to begin exploring. We took a trip down to the lake front and watched the birds and world go by.  Little man wanted an ice cream but finding a dairy free ice cream was proving difficult.  I likened them to buses, when you need one they are nowhere to be found and when you don't want one they are everywhere! After a low key morning we ventured to the World of Beatrix Potter for afternoon tea before heading for a walk around the attraction.  The afternoon tea was nice and even though the little man loved the experience the cost for it was a little expensive for an adult for what was a 30...

Ankle Brostrom Repair & Ankle Arthroscopy - Surgery/Recovery/Progress Blog

Introduction Approximately 13 years ago I was clambering off a picnic bench when I severely rolled my ankle.  The next day my ankle swelled, turned purple and was a little tender to walk on for a few days.  The swelling went down and I carried on with my daily life.  A month later I went on holiday to Florida, I jumped in a swimming pool and felt my ankle buckle under the pressure of the water.   It was after this point I started getting a tingling sensation in my foot each night.  I could not kick a football for 12 months in fear of causing further damage.  The sensation would be unbearable and would require me to wear a pressure sock long term to dispel the sensation.  Using doctor Google I self diagnosed tarsal tunnel syndrome.   I bet you are wondering why I didn't seek medical advice?  I was young, thought it would just pass and self heal.  I was naive. Fast forward 13 years, I now have a demanding 2 1/2 year old son who e...
